About Dr. Plummer

Dr. Darren Plummer is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, outpatient joint replacement, complex joint reconstruction, and revision surgery. He utilizes advanced surgical techniques and innovative pain management strategies for rapid recovery and faster return to normal activity for his patients. Dr. Plummer offers cutting-edge technologies like robotic-assisted total joint replacements and is trained in various surgical approaches for total hip replacements, including direct-anterior, anterolateral, and posterior approaches. He also has extensive training in partial knee replacements.

Dr. Plummer has strong ties to the local community in Spokane, WA, where he was born and raised. He attended Mead High School, graduated with honors from Gonzaga University, and earned his MBA before attending medical school. During his training, he was selected for the Slemenda scholars program, authored and published over 30 peer-reviewed research papers in orthopaedics, and received the James R. Rand Young Investigators Award from AAHKS.

He completed a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, IL, where he trained in complex revision joint surgery, partial knee replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and outpatient same day total joint surgery. When not seeing patients, Dr. Plummer enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fly fishing on the Spokane River, or skiing at Schweitzer Mountain.
