About Dr. Banda

Dr. Banda is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions. He was born and raised in Michigan. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency training through the Michigan State University State Wide Campus System. He has also spent significant time treating pediatric injuries, Dupuytren’s disease, performing microscopic nerve surgery, complex flexor tendon repair and reconstruction, tendon transfers, and treating hand and wrist problems related to Rheumatoid Arthritis. He has extensive training and experience in minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopic carpal tunnel release, wrist arthroscopy, and base of the thumb reconstruction for arthritis.

Dr. Banda and his wife Lisa, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, moved to North Idaho with their dog, Jet, a Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon. Dr. Banda is an avid mountain biker, cyclist, ultra-trail runner and enjoys all things related to fresh and saltwater fly fishing and upland hunting with Jet.
